Marjorie Goosey, Colton Peters Injured in Plumas County Collision
Plumas County, CA (September 10, 2021) – On September 6, 78-year-old Marjorie Goosey of Greenville, and 21-year-old Colton Peters of Crescent Mills, suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 70.
The Plumas county accident happened at 4:45 p.m. west of Chandler Road.
Officers said Peters was westbound in his 2008 Subaru at a stated speed of 55 mph.
At the same time, Goosey, was westbound in a 2019 Dodge but was stopped in the westbound lane .
Officers said Goosey was yielding to eastbound traffic as she waited to turn left into the Evergreen Trailer Park.
Peters did not realize that Goosey was stopped. He turned the Subaru to the left to avoid hitting the Dodge. However, the right front of his Subaru crashed with the right rear of the Dodge.
Peters’ Subaru rotated into the eastbound lane of the freeway where 28-year-old Brett Bouchard of Grass Valley was driving eastbound.
Bouchard tried to avoid hitting the Subaru but there wasn’t time or space. The front right of his Ford crashed with the left side of Peters’ Subaru.
After the crash, Goosey’s Dodge rested facing west and Bouchard’s Ford rested facing east.
Peters’ Subaru continued in a southwesterly direction where it crashed with the Evergreen Trailer Park mailboxes. It finally rested facing northeast.
Meanwhile, officers said no one was using cellphones at the time of the accident. Also, all were wearing their lap and shoulder harnesses.
Immediately, rescuers took Peters and Goosey to Plumas District Hospital with minor injuries.
