Dallas Wheat Hospitalized after Fatal Car Crash near Trower Road
CATHEYS VALLEY, CA (September 28, 2018) – A man was killed early Friday evening and another was hospitalized following a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 140. The identity of the deceased victim was not disclosed to the public, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 5:44 PM near Trower Road. A Ford F-150, driven by an unidentified 22-year-old Mariposa man, failed to negotiate a moderate left curve in the road. Subsequently, the pickup truck left the roadway and slammed into multiple oak trees.
The impact of the crash ejected the driver, who was not secured in a seatbelt. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the passenger, identified as 25-year-old Dallas Wheat of Mariposa, was hospitalized with moderate injuries. There is no update on his current medical condition.
