1 Killed in Waco Auto Accident on N 20th Street and Colcord Avenue

WACO, TX (January 22, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, authorities arrested Mario Rocha Jr after a deadly hit-and-run crash on N 20th Street.

The incident happened at about 1:22 a.m. on N 20th Street and Colcord Avenue.

According to reports, officers located one vehicle that was hit, and with three occupants inside.

Then, responders took two of them to a local hospital, and are expected to be fine.

However, one passenger succumbed to injuries at the scene. That person’s identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Moreover, the driver that hit them failed to stop at the scene.

Right now, the police are still searching for the hit-and-run vehicle.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information about the crash to contact Waco police at 254-750-7500 or send in an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 254-753-HELP(4357).

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
