1 Person Dead in Merced County Auto Accident on State Route 152 near Harmon Road

MERCED COUNTY, CA (May 2, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, Mario BadilloRincon sustained injuries in a fatal rollover crash on State Route 152 near Harmon Road.

The incident happened at around 3:54 p.m. on State Route 152, west of Harmon Road.

According to reports, a westbound 2003 GMC driven by 52-year-old BadilloRincon, lost control for still unknown reasons. Then, the vehicle traveled across the No. 2 lane and off the shoulder of the roadway before rolling multiple times down a dirt embankment.

Moreover, officers confirmed that a right-rear passenger of the vehicle died in the incident. Then, paramedics transported the driver with moderate injuries and two more passengers of the vehicle with moderate injuries, to a hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
