Pickup Truck Hits Tree on Novato Boulevard in Marin Killing the Driver and Passenger
MARIN, CA (April 5, 2019) – Two men were killed following a car collision Friday evening in Marin, according to the CHP.
The fatal collision happened around 9:05 p.m. on Novato Boulevard, just west of Stafford Lake.
Authorities said a white pickup truck was speeding eastbound when it lost control. After that, the truck left the two-lane roadway and struck a tree.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene. In addition, the authorities immediately began attempts to free the driver and passenger from the wreckage.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victims, both men, did not survive and were pronounced dead. A dog that had been riding in the bed of the truck was also located deceased nearby.
The severely damaged truck was towed away from the crash site. In addition, Novato Boulevard was closed for the investigation and was re-opened after 2:00 a.m.
