Marietta Portigai Injured in Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 90 [Liberty Lake, WA]

Liberty Lake, WA (June 8, 2023) On Tuesday, 78-year-old Marietta Portigai, of Calgary, Alberta, was seriously hurt in a pedestrian accident on I-90.

According to the WSP, the pedestrian accident happened 3 miles east of Liberty Lake, Tuesday morning.

Reports say that Portigai was attempting to cross I-90 on foot, after her vehicle ran out of gas, to ask a nearby Washington State Patrol Port of Entry for help.

Consequently, a vehicle struck the female pedestrian, the driver of the vehicle attempted to avoid the woman, but the vehicle’s front fender and side mirror hit the woman.

Medics transported Marietta Portigai to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in critical condition.
