Marie Alfano Fatally Injured in Palm Springs Crash

 
PALM SPRINGS, CA (June 10, 2019) – An 86-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Burton Way at Alejo Road Wednesday before noon.
 
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 86-year-old Marie Alfano of Palm Springs. Officials pronounced Alfano deceased hours after the crash.
 
An investigation determined that a silver pickup truck and a white sedan collided on North Burton Way at East Alejo Road at 11:49 a.m. Wednesday.
 
Officers shut down East Alejo Road for nearly 7 hours while they investigated the scene.
 
In the meantime, callers reported a second accident near East Tahquitz Canyon and South Farrell Drive at about 1:04 p.m. Officials partially shut down roadways in the area and reopened them in less than an hour.
