Marie Alexander of Los Angeles Dies in Central Avenue Hit-and-Run Crash [Los Angeles, CA]

Officers Search for Suspect in Fatal Collision South of 108th Street

Los Angeles, CA (December 02, 2022) – On Thursday night, Marie Alexander, 89, of Los Angeles, died in a Central Avenue hit-and-run crash.

The Los Angeles Police Department said the fatal incident occurred at around 11:10 p.m. south of 108th Street. 

The authorities said the victim was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by the car. She went airborne and collided with the roadway.

Sadly, Marie Alexander died at the crash scene.

Marie Alexander who suffers from dementia was last seen at around 2 p.m. on Thursday. Reports say she wandered away from the Cadillac Kaiser Hospital and took her son’s car. 

The authorities later located Alexander’s son’s car more than 15 miles away from the hospital.

Meanwhile, investigating officers said the involved vehicle is a dark-colored early model mid-sized Chevrolet. 

There is a reward of up to $50,000 offered by the city of Los Angeles for any information that may help authorities identify and arrest the suspect.
