Injuries Reported in Horrific Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 36
Callahan County, TX (March 13, 2024) On Sunday afternoon, 26-year-old Marianna Pickens-Quiroz, of Round Rock and 26-year-old Christopher Vanderslice, of Hutto were killed in a tragic multi-vehicle crash on Highway 26.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal 4-car crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 36, 8 miles south of Eula.
Reports say that a vehicle attempting to pass another car at a high rate of speed, crashed into the vehicle Pickens-Quiroz and Vanderslice’s vehicle.
Officials say that all 3 vehicles crashed and a 4th vehicle was hit by debris from the crash.
Authorities pronounced Pickens-Quiroz and Vanderslice dead at the scene, meanwhile, both occupants who were attempting to pass during the initial incident suffered serious injuries and medics transported them both to the hospital.
DPS is investigating the horrific crash and has not released further details at this time.
