Two Killed in West Gage Boulevard DUI crash
Kennewick, WA (April 4, 2022) – On Monday, the authorities arrested 28-year-old Mariana Souza in a DUI crash on West Gage Boulevard killing two people.
On Sunday, at about 11:18 p.m., officers responded to the crash scene at the intersection of North Steptoe Street.
Upon arrival, the authorities found two dead people in one of the involved vehicles.
Officers said Souza, the driver of the second vehicle was drunk when the fatal incident happened.
Moreover, Souza says that she was on her way home from a bar in Richland. She added that she was driving about 50 miles per hour when the light turned red at the intersection. She did not have time to stop her car which collided with the other vehicle.
Meanwhile, the authorities arrested her for suspicion of two counts of vehicular homicide.
Her case is pushed until Tuesday to provide a Portuguese translator.
