Maria Tapia Fatally Injured in Chino Pedestrian Accident
CHINO, CA (March 11, 2019) – A woman sustained fatal injuries after a vehicle struck her in a Chino road on Saturday, March 9.
Authorities have identified the victim as 73-year-old Maria Luisa Rico Tapia, of Chino.
The pedestrian accident was reported at about 6:44 a.m. on Riverside Drive near Oaks Avenue. According to the police, Tapia was crossing the street when a Honda driven by a 33-year-old woman struck her.
Officers declared Tapia dead at the scene at 6:57 am. The driver of the Honda remained at the area and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
