2 People Killed in Disastrous Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Phillips Street

Hanford, CA (October 22, 2023) On Friday, 62-year-old grandmother Maria Suarez and three-year-old granddaughter Jayleen Suarez died after a horrific traffic collision on 3rd Street.

According to the Hanford Police Department, the auto-pedestrian crash happened around 7 p.m. between Phillips Street and 3rd Street.

Reports say that a vehicle struck Suarez and her 2 grandkids, 3-yrar-old Jayleen and a 9-year-old child.

Officials say that victims were found lying on the roadway, medics rushed the injured pedestrians to the hospital.

Authorities say that Suarez and her 3-year-old grandchild succumbed to their injuries and died at the hospital, while the 9-year-old’s condition is currently unknown.

Police say that the driver stayed at the scene. Officials are investigating the probable cause of the fatal auto-pedestrian crash.
