Morning Crash on California Avenue near Sherman Drive Kills 1 and Leaves Another in Critical Condition
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 5, 2019) – A woman was killed and another person was in critical condition following a two-car crash Friday morning in Riverside.
The fatal crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on California Avenue near Sherman Drive.
According to the Riverside Police Department, a gold Saturn was traveling westbound. After that, it made a left turn onto southbound Sherman Drive. The Saturn was then struck by a silver Ford Taurus heading eastbound.
The front passenger of the Saturn, identified as an 85-year-old Maria Rojas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Saturn, an 84-year-old woman, was hospitalized in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford sedan, a 42-year-old Riverside resident, sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
Investigation of this fatal crash is still ongoing.
