Possible DUI Crash at Indian Street and Delphinium Avenue
Moreno Valley, CA (February 28, 2022) On Monday, a fatal crash on Indian Street claimed the life of 58-year-old Maria Mejia of Moreno Valley.
Authorities say that a pick-up struck Mejia’s gold Toyota Solana around 4:50 p.m. at Indian Street and Delphinium Avenue.
The crash caused the Toyota to careen across the roadway and come to rest north of the intersection.
Rescuers found Mejia trapped inside her vehicle and unresponsive.
Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department freed Mejia from her vehicle using hydraulic tools.
Furthermore, officials say that the Dodge was northbound on Indian Street and the Toyota was traveling west on Delphinium Avenue.
Moreover, as both entered the intersection the front side of the Dodge crashed into the driver’s side of the Toyota.
Meanwhile, the Dodge driver remained at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the probable cause of the crash, they are considering alcohol to be a factor.
