74-Year-Old Mexican Woman Killed in Solo-Vehicle Crash on I-15
Wildomar, CA (July 2, 2024) On Monday afternoon, 74-year-old Maria Martinez Lomeli of Mexico was killed in a disastrous rollover crash on Interstate 15.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal solo-vehicle crash happened at about 1:50 p.m. on southbound I-15, near Diamond Drive.
Reports say that a 2004 Kia Sorento, driven by a 71-year-old Compton man, veered onto the center median and rolled over, ejecting Lomeli. Medics rushed Lomeli to Inland Valley Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead.
Officials say that the driver and the front-seat passenger, identified as a 66-year-old Compton woman, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, both are now in stable condition.
CHP is investigating the fatal solo-vehicle crash.
