Woman Dies in Perrymont Avenue Accident
San Jose, CA (December 9, 2022) – On Wednesday, Maria Marcelo, 47, sustained fatal injuries in a pedestrian accident on Little Orchard Street.
The fatal accident took place at about 7 p.m. in the area of Perrymont Avenue.
Maria Marcelo was the co-founder of Healing Grove Health Center. She was leading a procession of the Virgen de Juquila, an Oaxacan traditional Christmastime celebration when she was fatally struck.
San Jose Police stated that a man driving a northbound 2004 Buick SUV on Little Orchard Street struck the victim.
Maria Marcelo succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Buick driver stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with investigators. Officers do not suspect impairment as a factor in the Perrymont Avenue accident.
In the meantime, officers are investigating the accident on Little Orchard Street.
