73-Year-Old Woman Dies in Accident near Hunn Road

 
YUBA CITY, CA (October 12, 2018) – An elderly woman was killed in a car crash on the northbound Highway 99, early Friday evening. The deceased victim was identified as 73-year-old Maria Esquibel of Yuba City.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 7:00 PM, near Hunn Road. Reports showed that Esquibel was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu on the freeway when it crossed the double yellow line, in front of a 2016 Toyota Camry.
 
There, the two vehicles collided. Due to the impact of the collision, Esquibel suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Camry, 24-year-old Vishal Masih, also of Yuba City, sustained unknown injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation, but her condition was said to be stable.
 
Both vehicles had major damage. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be factors in this fatal collision. No further details have been disclosed to the public at this time.
