Maria Cirlos Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Tom Gil Road [Peñitas, TX]

Peñitas, TX (September 7, 2024) – Maria Cirlos was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash on Tom Gil Road Wednesday night.

The authorities responded at around 8:25 p.m. to the vehicle vs pedestrian accident at the 3400 block of Tom Gill Road, north of 3 Mile Line.

Responding officers located Maria Cirlos unresponsive. 

The accident report stated that a witness began performing CPR on Cirlos until EMS paramedics arrived at the crash scene.

Afterward, Cirlos was rushed to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators say the suspect vehicle is a dark-colored GMC Sierra with noticeable front-end damage and was last seen traveling south on Tom Gil Road.
