1 Dead in Chandler Pedestrian Collision
CHANDLER, AZ (December 19, 2019) – A 38-year-old woman died in a pedestrian collision near McQueen Road on December 18.
Maria Armendariz got hit by a semi-truck pulling out of a private driveway near McQueen Road and Ray Road about 6:00 a.m.
A short while later, a red 1998 Ford Expedition then struck Maria Armendariz. Responders took her to a local hospital where she died.
The semi-truck driver continued driving until he reached Buckeye. The investigators revealed that the driver did not know his involvement in the collision. Meanwhile, the Expedition driver stayed at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. However, authorities ruled out impairment or distracted driving as a factor of the collision.
Authorities didn’t make any arrests or citations as of this time.
