Injuries Reported in Temecula Fiery Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 15
TEMECULA, CA (May 4, 2021) – Sunday, Margie Urrieta suffered injuries in a crash on Interstate 15.
Reports said that the five-vehicle Temecula crash occurred at around 5:15 p.m.
Moreover, it happened northbound on Interstate 15, south of Temecula Parkway.
Officer Mike Lassig said that Rolando Dominguez drove a 2016 Dodge Dart. Apparently, it plowed into a 2014 Dodge Impala.
As a result, the vehicles caught fire.
Subsequently, they caused a chain crash. This was with a Nissan Altima, Ford F-150 pickup, and Jeep Cherokee.
“Dominguez fled the scene on foot,” Lassig revealed. “He was apprehended on the Temecula Parkway off-ramp.”
Then, the Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived at the scene. They located the burning Dart and Impala.
Thus, firefighters put the fire out a short time later.
Meanwhile, Lassig revealed that the Impala passenger, Margie Urrieta, 57, of Indio, sustained major injuries.
Thus, responders took her to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment.
Ultimately, the hospital listed Urrieta in stable but critical condition.
On the other hand, the 57-year-old Impala driver of Indio sustained minor injuries.
After receiving treatment, the hospital eventually released him.
As a result of the 15 Freeway crash, authorities arrested Rolando Neil Dominguez of Escondido.
Then, they booked him into Byrd Detention Center.
Consequently, they detained him on suspicion of felony DUI and hit-and-run.
The authorities said that the suspect also sustained minor injuries.
