1-Year-Old Girl Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Redwood Street near 39th Street

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 26, 2022) – Saturday night, authorities arrested Margarito Angeles-Vargas after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Redwood Street.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at around 6:45 p.m. Also, the collision occurred at the 3900 block of Redwood Street near 39th Street in a neighborhood of City Heights.
 
Reports revealed that a 1999 Toyota 4Runner struck a one-year-old girl who wandered into the streets for still unknown reasons. Then, the vehicle driver fled the scene after the collision.
 
Moreover, responders rushed the victim to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest the hit-and-run driver, 45-year-old Margarito Angeles-Vargas for murder. Also, authorities booked Margarito on suspicion of felony drunk driving and hit-and-run, and driving with a suspended license.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
