Marcus Fischer Arrested in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on San Dario Avenue [Laredo, TX]

Laredo, TX (April 22, 2023) On Friday, police arrested 22-year-old Marcus Fischer for a hit-and-run crash on Lafayette Street.

Police say that the fatal pedestrian crash happened at the intersection with San Dario Avenue early Friday morning.

Reports say that Fischer was driving a blue car northbound on San Dario with he struck a 76-year-old male pedestrian crossing the street.

Authorities say that Fischer fled the scene without stopping or rendering aid to the fallen pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene.

Officials say that a family member drove Fischer to police headquarters to admit to the incident.

Police took Marcus Fischer to the Webb County Jail and Fischer gave consent to have his blood drawn as evidence as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not released the identity of the male victim at this time.
