Tracy Leite Involved in Collision near State Route 241
SUNNYSIDE, WA (November 8, 2018) – One person was injured in an accident State Route 24, late Thursday afternoon. The victim was later identified as 34-year-old Marco Morales-Galvez, a resident of Granger.
According to officials with the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 4:56 PM, near State Route 241.
Preliminary investigation showed that the two-car collision occurred when Galvez’s southbound vehicle exited the Silver Dollar Café driveway and failed to yield to a westbound vehicle, driven by 49-year-old Tracy Leite of Moxee.
Morales-Galvez was reportedly injured in the crash and transported to a Sunnyside hospital for treatment. There is no update on his current medical condition. It is unclear if Leite sustained injuries in the collision.
Due to the impact of the crash, both cars were totaled and had to be towed from the scene. A clearing operation was immediately performed to give way to other motorists passing through the area. No other information has been disclosed to the public, as officials continue to investigate.
