HWY 126 Collision Kills Driver
Santa Clarita Valley, CA (January 29, 2024) – 38-year-old Marco Marrufo of Peru was killed in a Highway 126 collision Friday afternoon.
The fatal four-vehicle happened at 5:30 p.m. on January 26 east of Chiquito Canyon.
Investigators said a pickup truck leaving the Chiquita Canyon Landfill did not yield to a westbound 1999 Ford F-150 driven by Marrufo.
After the two vehicles collided, the vehicles continued into the eastbound lanes wherein two additional vehicles also got involved.
Sadly, Marco Marrufo was declared deceased at the scene.
On the other hand, the pickup truck driver was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
Troopers closed both eastbound lanes of the freeway as they investigated the accident.
The California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office is investigating this fatal crash. Any witnesses are asked to contact the area office at (661) 600-1600.
