4 Riverside Residents Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision near 56th Street
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (October 23, 2018) – Four people were killed late Tuesday evening following a DUI crash near 56th Street. The victims were later identified as 23-year-old Marco Aguilar, 25-year-old Clinton Jellsey, 20-year-old Nicholas Cahill, and 20-year-old Daniel Smith, all residents of Riverside.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 11:45 PM. A car was driving north on Van Buren Boulevard when it lost control and entered the southbound lanes. There, it collided with a vehicle occupied by the four victims.
Aguilar, Jellsey, Cahill, and Smith all suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the unidentified driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. Updates on the driver’s current medical condition were not immediately available.
Authorities believe that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the fatal collision, which remains under investigation.
