Marc Contreras Struck and Killed on Heacock Street (Moreno Valley, CA)

Marc Contreras Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Moreno Valley

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (March 29, 2019) – A 19-year-old Moreno Valley man identified as Marc Contreras, was fatally struck by a car on Heacock Street late Friday evening.
 
Authorities began receiving dispatch calls about the fatal pedestrian collision around 11:19 p.m. First responders then arrived between Bay Avenue and Alessandro Boulevard soon after.
 
Fire and rescue personnel arrived to the scene within minutes. Contreras was found suffering multiple traumatic injuries. He eventually succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead on scene.
 
Officials described the vehicle that struck him as a small sedan. Witnesses say the driver immediately pulled over and cooperated with the investigation. It was also reported that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the collision.
 
Furthermore, the sedan sustained major front-end damage and was later towed away from the scene.
 
Based on the circumstances, deputies assigned to Moreno Valley PD’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation.
 
Deputies called for the temporary closure of Heacock Street between Bay Avenue and Alessandro Boulevard. Moreover, the roadway was reopened several hours later following cleanup and preliminary duties.
