Mara Delaney of Santa Rosa Killed in Seminary Avenue Collision [Oakland, CA]

Oakland, CA (September 29, 2023) – 72-year-old Mara Delaney of Santa Rosa died following a hit-and-run collision on Seminary Avenue Tuesday morning.

Some maintenance workers located her dead at about 1:07 p.m. Wednesday against a fence in the 3600 block area.

Officers said there were apparent skid marks from the southbound lanes of Seminary Avenue to the area where Delaney was located.

Similarly, recovered video surveillance showed a white Ford F-150 pickup truck involved in a collision with the woman between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday. The video showed that the driver fled afterward.

Officers said they were told the victim had been visiting friends in the area and was walking to a bus stop when she was struck by a vehicle.

In the meantime, officers have not released any description of the suspect driver. They also did not say if drugs or alcohol were factors in the death.

There is a $10, 000 reward offered by the Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland for information leading to the arrest of the suspect driver.
