Hilda Flores Arrested in Fatal DUI Head-On Crash at San Miguel Canyon Road and Strawberry Road

 
PRUNEDALE, CA (May 31, 2019) – 58-year-old Manuela Marta Torres of Salinas was among three people killed in a head-on crash Friday morning in Prunedale.
 
Authorities responded just before 6:00 a.m., on San Miguel Canyon Road. Dispatchers arrived just north of Strawberry Road shortly after.
 
According to reports, a brown Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 27-year-old Hilda Valencia Flores, was traveling in the wrong direction on San Miguel Canyon Road. There, she eventually collided head-on with an oncoming white Chevrolet.
 
Officers located four women inside the Chevy upon arrival. Torres and two other female passengers were pronounced dead on scene due to the impact of the collision. Meanwhile, Flores was taken to Natividad hospital for further treatment of major injuries.
 
Furthermore, Flores was later arrested and booked into the Monterey Country Jail. She currently faces felony charges of driving under the influence of drugs causing bodily injuries, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, causing great bodily injury and causing bodily injury or death to multiple victims.
 
The two other victims were also identified as 49-year-old Blanca Estela Range and 43-year-old Maria Teresa Rangel. Both are from Salinas.
