Domingo Ramos-Ortiz, Manuel Ortiz Die in Adelanto Car Accident
ADELANTO, CA (June 3, 2019) — Two people died and several others were injured following a head-on collision in Adelanto on Friday, May 31.
Police have identified the two victims as Manuel Ortiz, 47, and Domingo Ramos-Ortiz, 42, both of Lancaster.
At about 9:47 p.m., police rushed to the collision on El Mirage Road in front of the El Mirage Liquor Market & Gas store near Pico Avenue.
Police stated that Ortiz and Ramos-Ortiz were traveling east on El Mirage Road. Their vehicle struck a sport utility vehicle head-on that was traveling west.
Three people from the red car suffered severe injuries and a fourth passenger sustained unknown injuries.
Officers shut down the El Mirage Road in both directions as Mercy Air and H82 helicopters landed. Paramedics airlifted one person to Antelope Valley Hospital and another person was flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Responders transported the third critically injured person and the one with minor injuries by ground ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
