1 Dead in El Paso Auto Accident on 10600 Gateway North and 10600 Kenworthy Street

EL PASO, TX (July 31, 2023) – Sunday, Manuel Alejandro Gonzalez died in a horrific high-speed crash on 10600 Gateway North.

The incident happened on 10600 Gateway North and the 10600 block of Kenworthy Street in northeast El Paso.

Officers confirmed that 34-year-old Gonzalez, a resident of Chaparral, New Mexico, died after his speeding Ford Raptor failed to yield at a red light at the intersection.

Gonzalez’s 36-year-old passenger Melissa Tristan from Socorro sustained injuries in the crash.

Meanwhile, 51-year-old Esteban Rios driving a 2023 Purple Kenworthy, and another vehicle, a Silver Mac LTT tanker truck both traveling on the northbound lanes of the Gateway made a left turn. However, Gonzalez approached the intersection heading east on Kenworthy and collided with the tanker.

According to the police, speed and a “red light violation” played a role in the crash.

Officers said that the incident marked the 46th traffic fatality compared to 44 at this time last year.
