Manfred Rivas Struck Twice on North Stone Avenue
Tucson, AZ (January 02, 2022) – On December 31, 49-year-old Manfred Rivas dies in a hit-and-run crash on North Stone Avenue.
It was just after 6 p.m. when the collision happened in the 3200 block area.
Officers said Rivas was trying to cross Stone Avenue from east to west outside of a crosswalk.
Then, a northbound white passenger vehicle struck him. The white passenger vehicle did not stop but continued northbound.
Minutes later, a second vehicle also struck Rivas while he was lying in the roadway. The second vehicle also fled the scene.
Tucson Fire rushed Rivas to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.
Meanwhile, the officers are still investigating this fatal crash. Anyone with details is requested to call 88-CRIME.
