Two Injured in San Diego Rollover Collision on 15 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 19, 2019) — A 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were seriously hurt in a solo rollover crash on Friday, February 15.
California Highway Patrol Officer Jake Sanchez said that the accident occurred at about 5:20 a.m. on northbound 15 Freeway, near the connector ramp from westbound 8 Freeway.
The 33-year-old man was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze on westbound 8 Freeway when he entered the connector ramp to northbound 15 Freeway. Then for unknown reasons, he lost control of the sedan and the vehicle rolled over, Sanchez said.
Officers arrived and discovered the vehicle that overturned on its side in the left two lanes of northbound 15 Freeway, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Monica Munoz said. She added that firefighters extricated one person who was trapped in the car.
Both victims were seriously injured and were rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, Sanchez stated.
CHP officers were investigating the incident.
