58-Year-Old Man Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver near North 1st Street
EL CAJON, CA (September 20, 2018) – A man in a wheelchair was seriously injured Thursday evening, following a hit-and-run crash on East Main Street. The identity of the 58-year-old victim was not immediately available to the public.
According to the El Cajon Police Department, the incident took place at about 9:25 PM near North 1st Street. The victim was crossing outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound silver Nissan Altima.
The man sustained life-threatening head injuries, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. There were no updates available on his current medical condition at this time. Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
