Injuries Sustained in 5-Car Collision Accident in Spokane
SPOKANE, WA (January 15, 2019) – A total of five vehicles were involved in a crash on Francis Avenue in the northside of Spokane Tuesday night.
Authorities said the accident occurred around 5:30 PM on West Francis Avenue between North Alberta Street and North Lindeke Street.
Witness Chad Shoquist stated he was sitting in his house when he heard three loud bangs. He looked out of his window and saw “three cars bouncing around,” when a Chevrolet Avalanche hit one or more of the vehicles. After the impact, the driver of the Avalanche was trapped in his car for about an hour before firefighters were able to extricate him out.
Three of the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. According to Spokane Fire Dept battalion chief David Heizer, no one sustained life threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is currently unknown, as the investigation is ongoing.
