1 Dead in Seattle Train Accident
SEATTLE, WA (November 20, 2019) – A Lafarge Canada worker died after a rail car struck him on Marginal Way on November 18.
The police and medics came to 5400 block of West Marginal Way SW, at about 9:10 a.m. after reports of a pedestrian and train collision. Upon the responders’ arrival, they located the man with severe injuries. Medics and some crews tried to save the man, but he succumbed to his injuries.
“I saw the safety gentleman walking out here with his lit brim and that’s a real unusual sight to see,” said Tom Wise said.
The cause of the crash remains unknown as of this time. Meanwhile, the remote-controlled rail car moved at low speed when the crash happened.
“As fast as they go is maybe about five miles an hour,” Wise added.
The Seattle Police Department is currently handling the investigation.
