1 Dead in Snohomish Train Accident on Airport Way
SNOHOMISH, WA (June 25, 2019) – A man died after a freight train struck him on Airport Way on June 23.
The incident occurred about 10:00 a.m. in the 9900 block of Airport Way, Gus Melonas with Burlington Northern Santa Fe said. Melonas added that the man walked along the tracks while the train blew its horn and set its emergency brakes.
The man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the train haled freight from Seattle to Chicago. Furthermore, the collision blocked the line four around 3.5 hours.
Authorities are still investigating as to why the victim was on the tracks.
