Amtrak Train Involved in Fatal Collision near State Highway 152
PUYALLUP, WA (February 9, 2020) – A man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train on the 600 block of East Pioneer on Sunday evening.
According to the State Highway Patrol, the incident happened near State Highway 152 at approximately 8:45 PM.
Initially, reports from Puyallup Police showed that the victim had been sitting on the tracks. He was under a sleeping bag when the northbound passenger train struck him.
Officers found the man’s body nearby. The victim was declared dead at the scene of the Amtrak train.
No one on the train on East Pioneer was injured.
The collision is still under investigation.
