Pedestrian Hurt after Laguna Beach on South Coast Highway
LAGUNA BEACH, CA (February 18, 2019) – An Uber driver struck and injured an 80-year-old man just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13.
According to Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Jim Cota, the driver struck the pedestrian while he was crossing Mountain Street in a crosswalk.
Paramedics brought the critically injured man to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo by ambulance. His identity was not immediately released, Cota stated.
The car vs. pedestrian crash shut down the road for several hours during the police investigation.
Southbound Coast Highway was reduced to one lane at Mountain Road until after 11 p.m.
