One Person Injured in Fairfax District Hit-and Run Accident
FAIRFAX DISTRICT, CA (August 17, 2019) – Saturday morning, a man sustained severe injuries in a car accident on Beverly Boulevard.
Officials reported the accident occurred just before midnight in the intersection of Spaulding Avenue and Beverly Boulevard.
Per reports, the victim stood behind his vehicle removing an item from his trunk when he was struck. As a result, the victim was pinned between two cars. In addition, the driver then fled the scene.
Medics arrived shortly after. The man was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. He sustained severe injuries to his lower extremities. However, there has been no update on his medical status.
Also, authorities identified the vehicle involved as a Kia. It was left in the middle of the intersection with the motor running. The car had serious front end damages as a result of the accident. Police later caught the driver and took the suspect into custody.
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
