Suspected DUI Driver Hospitalized after Crashing into Tree near Greenford Drive

 
MIRA MESA, CA (December 4, 2018) – A man was injured early Tuesday morning following a solo-vehicle crash on Mira Mesa Boulevard. The identity of the 36-year-old victim was not immediately disclosed to the public.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened near Greenford Drive, at about 12:05 AM. A Scion coupe was heading west at a high speed when it jumped a curb, hit a tree, and ended up against a fence in a nearby parking lot.
 
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Further updates on his current medical condition were not provided. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
 
Investigators believe that alcohol played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
