Male Pedestrian Hit and Injured by Vehicle near Rankin Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 23, 2018) – A man was hospitalized early Thursday morning following a pedestrian accident on Jerrold Avenue.
According to San Francisco Police officials, the incident took place at about 1:20 AM in the Bayview District, near Rankin Street. A male pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle mid-block.
Paramedics arrived at the scene to render aid to the injured victim. He was later transported to the hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries. The victim’s name and current medical condition were not immediately released to the public.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old driver remained at the scene after the collision and was cooperative with the investigators. The cause of the accident and possible contributing factors remain under investigation, and additional information was not available.
