Man Seriously Injured in Scooter Accident at 1st Avenue and C Street [SAN DIEGO, CA]

Scooter Driver Suffers Fractured Skull after Crash in Downtown San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 5, 2019) – A man was seriously injured following a scooter accident at 1st Avenue Monday evening in downtown San Diego.
 
The accident happened just after 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of 1st Avenue and C Street.
 
According to San Diego police, the man was riding a rental motorized scooter northbound on 1st Avenue when he fell and struck his head.
 
Responding paramedics rushed him to a hospital with a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage. The condition of the patient was not immediately available.
 
Police did not release the speed at which the scooter was traveling at the time of the crash.
 
Further investigation is underway.
