Sacramento Man Fatally Hurt in El Dorado Hills Motorcycle Accident
EL DORADO HILLS, CA (June 3, 2019) — A 25-year-old Sacramento man died after a motorcycle accident on Magnolia Hills Drive on Saturday.
According to reports, he crashed his motorcycle and then hit a vehicle going in the other direction.
The motorcyclist who was riding with a 26-year-old female passenger drew closer to a curve at an unsafe speed on northbound Bass Lake Road just south of Magnolia Hills Drive near Cameron Park.
He attempted to slow down yet lost control of the motorcycle, which then fell on its side.
The motorcycle, together with the Sacramento man and his passenger, slid into the southbound lane. After that, it struck a southbound Honda Accord.
The driver of the Honda tried to avoid the motorcycle but was unable to. The impact of the collision launched the motorcyclist and the woman, also of Sacramento, to the shoulder.
Paramedics airlifted the female passenger to a hospital with major injuries.
Three people, who were not involved in the incident, stopped and tried to give CPR to the motorcyclist until the officers arrived. However, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene, the CHP said.
The motorcycle accident is still under investigation. It’s not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were factors.
