Fatal Vehicle-Motorcycle Collision near Silverado Canyon Road
SILVERADO, CA (May 28, 2018) – A man died and a woman was critically injured in head-on crash on Santiago Canyon Road, early Monday evening.
California Highway Patrol and Orange County Fire Authority received a report about the collision involving a vehicle and at least one motorcycle near the intersection of Santiago Canyon Road and Silverado Canyon Road, around 5:25 PM.
According to the CHP incident report, the crash involved a motorcycle that collided head-on with a vehicle, but it was not clear if the crash involved two motorcycles, or one motorcycle with two riders.
A man in his mid-50’s was pronounced dead at the scene and a woman in her 40’s was rushed to the Orange County Global Medical Center in critical condition. Their identities were not immediately disclosed, and the woman’s current condition has not been released.
Southbound lanes on Santiago Canyon Road for at least one hour after the collision, as officials investigated and crews cleaned up the debris. Authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident, and no additional information is available to the public at this time.
