1 Dead and 1 Seriously Injured after Car Plows into Sacramento Home near El Camino Avenue
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 26, 2018) – On Tuesday evening, a man was killed and another was seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into a North Sacramento home on Morell Street.
According to Sacramento Police, the crash happened around 10:25 PM in the 2300 block of Morell Street, near El Camino Avenue. They received reports of a vehicle crashing into a house and noises that were similar to gunshots in the area.
The officers arrived at the scene and found two men in need of medical attention. CPR was performed on one of the victims while waiting for the Sacramento Fire Department. Unfortunately, the unidentified man succumbed to his critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. The second victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
Due to the severity of this event, homicide detectives, crime scene investigators, and motor collision investigators were called to the scene to take over the investigation. The injuries of the victims are being investigated to determine if the gunshots heard were involved in the incident.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
