Sandra Guzman Injured in Traffic Collision near East Avenue I
LANCASTER, CA (September 28, 2018) – A man was killed early Friday evening following a two-vehicle crash on 70th Street East. The identity of the 38-year-old victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 6:00 PM near East Avenue I. A northbound 1998 Honda Accord, driven by 31-year-old Sandra Guzman of Lancaster, was approaching the intersection of 70th Street E and E Avenue I when it failed to stop at a stop sign. There, it collided with a 1996 Honda Accord driven by a Kern County man.
The impact of the crash fatally injured the unidentified driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, Guzman suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Updates on her current medical condition were not immediately available.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the fatal crash, which remains under investigation. No other information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
