Driver Dies After Vehicle Collides with Livermore Train on Junction Avenue at Old First Street
LIVERMORE, CA (July 23, 2019) — A male driver died after a train collided with his vehicle on Junction Avenue at Old First Street Monday morning.
The Livermore Police Department said the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle which was struck by an Altamont Corridor Express train just before 8:00 a.m.
They have not released the name of the victim who died at the scene. In addition, no train passengers sustained injuries in the collision as per the police.
Officers closed Junction Avenue at Old First StreetRoads during their subsequent investigation. They reopened the roadways by late morning.
Service on the involved ACE train was delayed for 88 minutes until passengers could be transferred. All train service went back to normal by Monday evening.
