Bakersfield, CA (September 27, 2024) On Thursday midnight, a man lost his life after a tragic pedestrian crash on Standard Road.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD), the fatal incident happened at around midnight on the 32000 block of 7th Standard Road.
Reports say that the man lost his life after being struck by a car while pushing his broken-down vehicle in northwest Bakersfield.
Authorities stated that the man was pushing his disabled car when an eastbound vehicle hit him from behind. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say that the driver involved is cooperating with the police.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity at a later date. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
