Male Pedestrian Dies in Sierra Highway Crash in Palmdale

Palmdale, CA (August 26, 2021) – Wednesday night, a man died in an auto-pedestrian crash on  Sierra Highway.

The fatal crash in Palmdale happened at around 9:09 p.m. on August 25, south of Avenue S.

A news release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station stated that the pedestrian walked northbound in the number two traffic lane of Sierra Highway when a 2021 Ford Explorer driving northbound in the number two lane of Sierra Highway struck him. 

The driver of the vehicle reportedly did not see the pedestrian prior to the collision due to the pedestrian wearing dark clothing. 

Officers pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Police have yet to disclose his name pending notification of kin.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old male driver of Ford Explorer remained at the scene.
