Gankuyag Nyamdorj Arrested after Fatal DUI Collision near Santa Monica Boulevard
HOLLYWOOD, CA (December 31, 2018) – A man was killed early Monday morning following a pedestrian crash on North Vermont Avenue. The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened near Santa Monica Boulevard, at about 2:28 AM. A 2017 Lexus RX350 was heading north when it struck a pedestrian.
The victim, identified as a man in his 30s, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Lexus, identified as Gankuyag Nyamdorj, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the fatal collision and to identify other possible contributing factors.
